1. Information we collect
Account information. When you sign in with phone OTP or Google through Firebase Authentication, we receive your Firebase user ID and the phone number and/or email address provided by Firebase. If you add optional profile details in the app, such as your name, age, or city, we store those details so your account and support records stay accurate.
Device & notification data. We store your device's Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token and platform (Android, iOS, or web) so we can deliver push notifications about new content and subscription status.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Razorpay. We store the plan you purchased, the amount, and Razorpay's order/payment reference IDs to activate your subscription, reconcile failed or duplicate payments, and keep accounting records. We do not receive or store your card, UPI PIN, bank account, or wallet credentials. Razorpay handles those details directly.
Usage information. We keep records of your active subscriptions and which notes, question papers, current-affairs PDFs, or news items you open so the app can show the right access state, free previews, and recently opened content.
Website contact information. If you contact us through email, phone, WhatsApp, or a website form, we collect the details you provide so we can respond to your request.
2. How we use your information
- To create your account and let you sign in securely.
- To verify Razorpay payments and activate fixed-duration subscriptions.
- To enforce free-preview limits and show paid content only to eligible users.
- To send important notifications about content, payment status, or subscription expiry.
- To watermark protected PDFs to your account.
- To answer support, billing, cancellation, and refund requests.
- To keep records required for accounting, tax, and dispute resolution.
3. Content protection & watermarking
Notes, question papers, and current-affairs PDFs that require a subscription open only inside the app's built-in secure viewer — they are never available as a plain downloadable file. Each protected PDF is watermarked with details tied to your account, and screenshots or screen recording are blocked while a protected PDF is open. This protects the content from unauthorized redistribution; it also means a leaked copy can usually be traced back to the account it was watermarked for.
4. Payments and subscriptions
Plans shown on the website and in the app are one-time payments for fixed durations. There is no automatic renewal. Payment verification happens through Razorpay and our backend so that your plan can be activated after a successful transaction.
5. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers needed to run the app and website:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication and push notifications.
- Razorpay — payment processing.
- AWS — backend hosting, database infrastructure, and private S3 storage for PDFs served through short-lived signed links.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use your account data for third-party advertising.
6. Data retention
We keep account and payment records for as long as your account is active, and afterwards for as long as needed to meet accounting, tax, or legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time, subject to those record-keeping requirements.
7. Your choices
- Edit your profile details directly in the app.
- Contact us to request a copy of your data or to delete your account.
- Uninstalling the app stops future push notifications to that device.
- Contact us if you want help with a payment, refund, or subscription access issue.
8. Children's privacy
Spardha Kirana is built for competitive-exam aspirants and is not directed at young children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
9. Security
Content is stored in a private bucket and served only via short-lived signed URLs after the backend checks access. Authentication tokens are stored in secure device storage where supported, and traffic between the app, website, and servers is encrypted with HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using these safeguards.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised version here.
